Monterey Park : Dragon Dance Scheduled

The Monterey Park Downtown Merchants Assn. will celebrate Chinese New Year on Saturday and Sunday ) with a flower market and a traditional dragon dance, featuring a 140-foot-long dragon.
The dragon dance will begin Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from Garvey Avenue and Ramona Boulevard, and snake its way east to Alhambra Avenue, north on Garfield Boulevard to Emerson Avenue, south to Newmark Avenue and concluding on Ramona Boulevard.
The flower market, featuring merchandise and Chinese folk arts, will be open both days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the parking lot of C. W. Building Supply Co. and T. S. Emporium, 122-128 W. Garvey Ave.
Admission to all events is free.
