Claremont : Weekly Recycling Pickups
The City Council on Tuesday approved a reorganization of the Solid Waste Division to expand recycling collection service and rearrange staffing.
Service improvements will begin this spring and include collection of residential recyclables every week instead of every other week, and a free pickup of bulky items such as furniture twice a year.
The service will also open a drop-off service for used motor oil.
Though residential rates will not increase, commercial rates will rise by 5% for waste service and 4% for recycling service.
Administrative staff of the division will be reorganized, and one position will be eliminated.
