“If you were to compare him to a pro basketball player, he is a Michael Jordan type; he just dominates the game,” said his coach, Josh Brooks. Hahm dominated two Delphic League games by scoring five goals as the Wildcats recorded two shutout victories. He scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Oakwood and added three more goals in a 5-0 win over Windward as Whitney improved its league record to 5-1-1.
Other top performers:
* Avondre Jones, a 6-foot-11 center of the Artesia High basketball team, scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Pioneers defeated Norwalk, 69-33, then had 25 points and 10 rebounds as the Pioneers clobbered Glenn, 80-42. The wins improved Artesia’s Suburban League record to 4-0 and its league unbeaten streak to 41 games.
* Ken Fitzpatrick, a 6-foot-8 center for Bell Gardens, scored 51 points as the Lancers earned two more victories and improved their Whitmont League raecord to 6-1. Fitzpatrick scored 23 points as the Lancers defeated Pioneer, 77-44, then had a game-high 28 points in a 75-46 win over Montebello.
