Mum’s the Word: Tammy Wynette and the Globe have reached an agreement under which the supermarket tabloid may keep police reports about the singer’s 1978 kidnaping but not publish them. The Globe obtained the documents by court order last month as it prepared to defend itself against a $35-million libel suit filed by Wynette and George Richey, her husband and manager. The couple sued after the tabloid reported that she had moved out of the house because of marital troubles. The police reports involve a 1978 incident in which Wynette was abducted from a shopping mall parking lot, beaten and forced to drive 60 miles, then released. Her abductor was never arrested.
