Orion Backs Reorganization Plan: Directors of Orion Pictures Corp. voted unanimously to endorse a proposal that could help the firm emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The vote authorized continued negotiations between New Line Cinema Corp. and Metromedia Co., the John Kluge-owned concern that is Orion’s majority shareholder. It also allows the company to accept offers deemed better than New Line’s. Other firms reportedly interested in Orion include Turner Broadcasting Systems, Warner Bros. and Miramax. Any reorganization would require approval of Orion’s creditors and the bankruptcy court.
