PLNC Tennis Team Rolls to Easy Win

Point Loma Nazarene College had an easy time Thursday in Golden State Athletic Conference men’s tennis play, scoring a 9-0 victory over Southern California College.
PLNC (12-2, 5-1) had four entries that surrendered only two games or fewer: Robert Pearson defeated Finn Bell, 6-1, 6-0; Enrique Guajardo defeated Shannon Peace, 6-1, 6-1; Andrew Patton defeated Court Bickmore, 6-1, 6-0; and in doubles, Scott Dickey and Darin Bassett defeated Mike West and Scott House, 6-0, 6-1.
The Point Loma Nazarene women’s team improved to 11-4 with a 7-2 nonconference victory over Occidental. At No. 1 singles, the Crusaders’ Monica Clancy rallied to defeat Maro Najarian, 3-6, 6-0, 6-1.
BASEBALL
David Rex drove in four runs with two doubles and a two-run homer, his fifth of the season, to power UC San Diego to a 16-1 nonconference rout of Cal Baptist (7-21).
