Jason Francisco broke a 2-2 tie late in the second period and Wisconsin’s defense made the lead stand up as the Badgers upset high-powered Michigan 4-2 in the semifinals of the NCAA Division I tournament at Albany, N.Y.
In the other semifinal, Mark Astley and Sandy Moger scored goals 84 seconds apart, enabling Lake Superior State to defeat Michigan State, 4-2.
