If you’re weary of the term NIMBY to describe the not-in-my-back-yard types who fight landfills and the like in their neighborhoods, newer terms are making the rounds in environmental circles.
The San Diego-based Environmental Business Journal reports that not-in-my-term-of-office (NIMTOO?) and not-in-my-election-year (NIMEY?) have been overheard.
But the ultimate term, according to the journal, may be the concept of build-absolutely-nothing-anywhere-near-anybody. BANANA, for short.
