Litton Industries Inc. said its Aero Products division in Moorpark was selected by Boeing Co. to provide radio navigation sensors for use aboard Boeing’s new B-777 commercial passenger jets.
The potential value of the award was not disclosed, Litton said, because it has not yet signed a formal production contract. Initial test units of the system will be delivered to Boeing early next year.
Litton said the Global Positioning System sensors provide flight crews with precise position, velocity and time information worldwide, based on signals that are transmitted continuously from a network of space satellites.
