NASA Test-Fires Engines of New Space Shuttle

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. — The main rocket engines of the new space shuttle Endeavour roared to life for 22 seconds Monday during a launch pad test in advance of the spaceship’s inaugural flight in May.
“Every indication we have is that things went just as we would have liked them to,” shuttle director Leonard Nicholson said.
