The Marina High School girls’ field hockey team, the Garden Grove Claremont boys’ soccer team and the Capistrano Valley girls’ volleyball team were among the 24 athletic teams honored for academic achievement by the Angels in pregame ceremonies April 8 at Anaheim Stadium.
The awards were based on cumulative team grade-point averages. Teams must have a combined 3.0 average on a 4.0 scale in college-preparatory classes for the first semester of the 1991-92 school term.
Marina’s field hockey team posted a 3.09 average; Claremont’s soccer team a 3.33 and Capistrano Valley’s volleyball team a 3.66.
