Pomona : Honors for Hotel Project
The city’s partnership with a hotel chain in developing steep hillside property into the site of the $16-million Shilo Inn Hilltop Suites Hotel will be recognized with an award of merit at the California Assn. for Local Development conference in San Diego on Thursday.
The Pomona project will be one of six in the state honored at the conference by the association of public and private development organizations.
The hotel, which opened last summer, was built after the city Redevelopment Agency agreed to waive development fees, construct a water main and install traffic signals at a cost of up to $464,000.
The hotel created 199 jobs and will generate about $340,000 a year in tax revenue to the city.
