Diversion of Subway Route

In response to “Group Attacks Diversion of Subway Route,” April 1:
Once again, it is demonstrated that there are no limits to the corruption and stupidity of government officials. We were informed during the ‘70s and ‘80s that the only justification for “heavy” rail was a densely populated corridor, the most obvious example being Wilshire Boulevard.
Now that transit looms as a reality, we are informed that this is not an important criteria. Even though the experts say methane is not an insurmountable problem, our wise and just leaders have found a new plan to derail the most important public works project of the 20th Century.
