County inspectors closed an Oxnard cafe and a Moorpark restaurant last month for health code violations, the Ventura County Environmental Health Department has reported.
The Capri Inn Cafe, 140 E. 6th St. in Oxnard, was ordered to close March 24 because of a lack of hot water and has yet to reopen, said Janice Harley, a county environmental health specialist.
Tello’s Mexican Food, 415 Moorpark Ave. in Moorpark, was shut down March 27 for four days because of roof damage caused by rainstorms.
Harley said the roof leaked onto the kitchen range hood, threatening to contaminate food. A large section of ceiling in the kitchen, storage areas and employee restrooms had collapsed, posing a health hazard and providing a possible entrance for vermin, she added.
