Shop-at-Home TV Networks Drop Merger Talks: The archrival networks QVC and Home Shopping said they failed to reach agreement on “a possible business combination” and will abandon talks initiated nearly two months ago. Although the two dominate the $2-billion-a-year televised shop-at-home market, both have been struggling to maintain momentum in recent months. Neither would say why the talks were halted.
