One of the hottest new groups in years is the young (ages 12 and 13) Atlanta-based rap duo Kris Kross, which was unknown just a few weeks ago. Now the pair has an album, “Totally Krossed Out,” that’s No. 3 on the Billboard magazine pop chart and a single that shot to No. 1 on the pop singles chart in just four weeks, one of the fastest-rising singles by a new artist in the last two decades. Def Leppard’s “Adrenalize” maintained its hold on No. 1.
* Another Atlanta-based group, the female rap/R&B; vocal trio TLC, is moving up the chart with an album (No. 46) that’s boosted by the single, “Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg,” which is No. 6 on the pop singles chart.
