If Lakers Don’t Try to Win, They Lose Fans
- Share via
We are big Laker fans. They have taught us a lot about winning and a lot about being winners. This year could have been an extension of that proud tradition. Instead, this season has shown an ugly face. Everyone knows the adversity that this team has had to face. Making the playoffs and making a good showing would have been the franchise’s biggest accomplishment.
But it seems the Lakers have other plans. We’ll grant that James Worthy and Sam Perkins are hurt (Shaquillitis?), but after watching the team let yet another victory slip away (April 9) against San Antonio, we have to believe something is amiss.
We know the Lakers are shorthanded, but if they gave the fans an honest effort with the personnel they have, we wouldn’t be left with this taste of dirt in our mouths when we leave the Forum after shelling out our life savings.
If you don’t want to make the playoffs, if you’re waiting for that lottery pick, if you’re not going to try, just let us know and we’ll tune in next year.
