U2 WATCH: Fans who reportedly shelled out as much as $1,200 per seat for U2’s Los Angeles Sports Arena concerts last week got to see more than the Irish band. They also got a chance to do some heavy-duty star-gazing.

Among the celebrity sightings from the music world at the two shows: Bruce Springsteen, Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose (who had earlier caught the show in Austin, Tex.) and Slash, Ringo Starr, Tom Petty, Jackson Browne, Billy Idol, Perry Farrell and LL Cool J. The film contingent was headed by Robert De Niro, Tom Hanks, Sean Penn, Julia Roberts, Jason Patric, Tom Cruise, his wife Nicole Kidman, Daryl Hannah and Rob Lowe. Unclassified: Timothy Leary.
