Anti-Smoking Policy of Mayor

I fully agree with Dale Wopschall’s comments (Times, Letters, April 5).
I am fed up with “hyper-zealous, anti-smoker” campaigns such as (Pasadena Mayor) Jess Hughston’s.
Anti-smokerism is a most pathetic form of scapegoating.
Anti-smokers represent themselves as being holier than thou and with their divine purity they represent smokers (or in fact all non-anti-smokers) as possessed by demons.
The fact is that smokers have been benign and complacent, while the anti-smokers are arrogant and insulting.
I for one am fed up with anti-smokerism and will be the first to blow smoke in Jess Hughston’s face by voting him out of office.
