Making No Choice for Pro-Choice
According to your article “Taking a Step Off the Platform” (April 2), WISH List is an organization of pro-choice Republican women which gives financial support to other pro-choice Republican women who are running for Congress.
Judith Ryan, a pro-choice Republican woman, is challenging incumbent Rep. Robert K. Dornan (R-Garden Grove), who is virulently anti-choice. Suddenly, WISH List claims to be “too new” to make an endorsement in that race, and says that its current policy is “not to endorse challengers over incumbents in a primary race.”
WISH List’s decision not to back Judith Ryan provides yet another instance of “moderate” Republicans choosing party over principle when a tough decision needs to be made. Perhaps WISH List should really be called WIMP List (What? Impugn My Party?)
