Glassell Park : Gang Member Shot to Death

A gang member with an extensive criminal record was shot to death in Glassell Park on Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
Raul Avina, 29, a parolee, was shot several times in the torso by an assailant armed with a handgun in a parking lot at the rear of an apartment complex in the 3200 block of Drew Street, Sgt. Ron Whitt said.
Police said Avina was carrying rock cocaine.
No suspects were in custody.
