Ben Norman, a stage and film director and advertising executive who produced the old KNXT (now KCBS) TV program “Know Your Child,” died Friday in Hollywood. He was 73 and apparently died of a heart attack.
He produced educational pictures with FilmFair Inc. of Studio City. In the 1970s founded his own production company, which made educational and documentary films on such topics as opportunities in science for minorities and sexual behavior pictures for teen-agers. The company produced some films for the U.S. Department of Health Education and Welfare.
In retirement he served as a member of the Los Angeles County Grand Jury in 1986-87 and as a counselor at the Senior Health and Peer Counseling Center in Santa Monica.
