Three City Council members elected last week have been sworn in for four-year terms and have chosen Bob Hill to serve one year as mayor.
Lesley Devine, Karyn Foley and Marvin Lopata were sworn in to the five-member council at a ceremony earlier this week. Hill, who served as mayor pro tem since the city incorporated last year, replaces Dennis Washburn.
The council members chose Lopata as new mayor pro tem.
Also this week, Steven Harris was named the city’s first director of community development. Harris, head of the Planning Department of the city of Folsom in Sacramento County, will oversee planning and supervise the preparation of the city’s general plan.
Harris, 35, will assume the post, which pays $65,000 a year, June 1.
