UC Irvine Adds Four to Women’s Basketball Team

IRVINE — UC Irvine women’s basketball Coach Colleen Matsuhara announced Thursday the signing of four high school players to letters of intent.
The signings are Allah-mi Basheer, a 6-foot-2 center from Cerritos High; 5-2 guard Tamera Thomas of Covina Northview High; 5-10 forward Fatima Warren of San Pedro High, and 5-7 guard Davette Williams of Walnut High.
Basheer was a second-team All-Southern Section pick, averaging 13 points and eight rebounds. Thomas was a first-team all-section selection who averaged 15.8 points. Warren was a two-time All-City and All-South Bay selection, and Williams was a two-time Valle Vista League MVP who averaged 18.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and five steals.
