Walnut : Trash Pickup Fee to Rise

Citing increased landfill costs, the City Council last week approved a 5.1% increase in the residential trash pickup rate.
Beginning July 1, the monthly trash pickup fee will rise 60 cents, from $11.76 to $12.36.
The city’s trash hauler, Waste Management of San Gabriel/Pomona Valley Inc., had requested an 83-cent increase but agreed to the 60-cent hike after meeting with city staff.
