BEACH BY SUBWAY? Orange County transit board member Dana Reed got a chance to take part in the first demonstration run on Los Angeles’ new, 4.5-mile Red Line subway last week. He was impressed. . . . “We’re still 10 years behind Los Angeles” on rail service and need to “catch up,” he told his board colleagues Monday. Reed recognizes that subways may not be best for Orange County--he just wants the county to do more about adding rail lines of some kind.
