Catfish Are Planted for Irvine Lake Opener

More than 10,000 pounds of catfish--some weighing 15 pounds--have been planted in Irvine Lake to join the healthy population of blues and channels for the official opening of catfish season at 6 a.m. Friday.
Night fishing hours have been expanded to 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Thursdays through Sundays, and special “Full Moon Madness” sessions are scheduled July 11, Aug. 15 and Sept. 12, with fishing from 5:30 p.m. to 3 a.m.
