The following is a list of July 4 activities:

* Nordhoff Stadium in Ojai will host a benefit celebration featuring live music, a laser light show, pyrotechnics and more:

* 6 p.m.: The Ojai Band will perform a selection of Sousa marches and American band favorites.

* 7 p.m.: The Beatles impersonators, “Yesterday,” the original touring cast of Beatlemania, perform hits of the Fab Four.

* 8:45 p.m.: The Ojai Band performs “Testimonials to Liberty,” a narration of patriotic words set to music, while Joseph Sohm’s multimedia work “Visions of Liberty” is projected on a large screen. The Ojai Community Chorus then joins the stage and leads concert-goers in the singing of patriotic songs while the stadium is illuminated with a display of laser lights. The evening will close with a fireworks show and pyrotechnic ground displays. Proceeds benefit Ojai Day, Independence Day Celebration and the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program.

* The Ventura County Symphony kicks off its 31st season with its annual “July Fourth Spectacular” in the Festival Bowl at Ojai’s Libbey Park. Commencing at 7 p.m., the symphony will perform popular melodies and marches. Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture”--complete with cannon blasts--will end the the concert.

* The Ventura Concert Theater hosts “Fourth of July Blowout” with local favorites Lion I’s (reggae), Ariel (rock) and Raging Arb & The Redheads (blues rock). Concert starts at 6 p.m.; the theater is at 26 S. Chestnut St. Tickets are $6. Must be 21. Call 648-1888.

* The Conejo Recreation and Park District continues its Summer Concerts in the Park series with an Independence Day special at Conejo Community Park, Dover and Hendrix avenues, Thousand Oaks. The Conejo Concert Band will perform an array of patriotic songs and American melodies beginning at 3 p.m. No charge. Call 495-6471.

* Fireworks: 9 p.m., viewed from The Oaks mall parking lot, Thousand Oaks, (west of Moorpark Road). The fireworks are launched from the old Civic Center hill and can be seen from the entire mall area. Call 499-4355 for information.

* Fourth of July Spectacular: 2 p.m., at Camarillo’s Freedom Park, Pleasant Valley Road and Freedom Park. Entertainment includes live music, magicians and Kiddie Karnival. Fireworks display starts at dusk. Admission is $5, $3 for senior citizens and students, and free for children under 5. Call 482-1996.

* Fireworks: 9 p.m., Fillmore High School, 555 Central Ave. A variety of entertainment will commence at 10 a.m. at Central Park, Central Avenue and Main Street, and include a chili cook-off, children’s activities, a car show, live music and more. No charge. Call 524-3701.

* Still more fireworks: 9 p.m., Simi Valley High Stadium, 5400 Cochran St. “Discover America” will kick off at 7:15 p.m. and include live music, a sky-diving team exhibition, drill and baton teams, a choral group and more. Admission is $5, $3 ages 4 to 12; $1 more at the gate. Call 584-4400 for pre-sale tickets and information.

* Ventura Beach fireworks: 4:44 a.m., best viewing by the promenade at the end of California Street. The pre-dawn fireworks show will be followed at 10:30 a.m. by “Outer Space Adventures,” a children’s parade along Main Street from Cemetery Park to Fir Street. The July Fourth Street Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Plaza Park (Thompson Boulevard and Chestnut Street) and include arts and crafts exhibitors, vendors, live music and more. No charge.
