Labor Party Wins in Israel
The Israeli voters did the right thing. They voted in the Labor Party, which is both peace-oriented and willing to divest Israel of land populated by Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. Israel has taken a different direction from that taken by the Likud Party, which is anti-progressive, anti-Palestinian and rejects peace efforts with the Arabs.
Most Jews and Arabs want to live together in peace. Now they can strengthen that desire. The rights of both the Israeli and Palestinian peoples should be equally defended. If they can become friends, maybe in time they can learn to love each other. That would drive out fear which is the cause of all war.
