PLATFORM : For a Stronger L.A.

In the wake of the riots, people are realizing that the Korean and Korean-American business communities cannot rebuild in isolation. Korean-Americans have an important role in the economic life of Los Angeles. However, African-American business owners also have a key commercial role in the city.

If our rebuilding efforts are to be successful, all communities have to be strengthened. Korean-American and African-American business leaders must work together. The two business communities should communicate and, working together, develop an economic revitalization plan that benefits both African-Americans and Korean-Americans.

This crisis offers us an opportunity. If we coordinate our efforts, we can actually strengthen the economic base. In fact, we can create a Los Angeles that is stronger than the city that existed before the crisis.
