A 32-year-old inmate serving time for possession of stolen property and violating his probation escaped from James A. Musick Branch Jail on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Dale Randolph Abramson of Poway escaped some time before 11:15 a.m. while on a work crew assignment at the jail, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department reported. His method of escape is under investigation.
Abramson, who had been at the jail since April 14 and was scheduled to be released in late November, is not considered dangerous, said Lt. Richard Olson, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman.
Abramson is about 6 feet 3, 235 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.
