Officers at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Division on Friday will give away 100 tickets to a Latino music festival to be held in Lake View Terrace on Sunday to support Jeopardy, the department’s gang-prevention program in the San Fernando Valley.
Under the Jeopardy program, police officers try to steer “at-risk” youngsters away from gangs.
The fund-raising festival, which will feature contemporary and folkloric Latin music, will be held from noon to 7 p.m. at the Hansen Dam Park, 11850 Foothill Blvd. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door. The 100 free tickets, provided by Keyes Toyota, will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis between 2 and 4 p.m. Friday at the front desk of the Van Nuys Division, 6240 Sylvan Ave.
