Authentic Sublimity
From the July 2 art review, “Fresh Look at Egypt’s Overphotographed Monuments”: “. . . Photographs are original because they do not assume that culture’s intrinsically artificial nature automatically precludes the possibility that its fabricated forms might elicit an authentic experience of sublimity.”
I know the definition of each word, but I can’t understand the sentence. (I have a master’s degree.) Please explain. Thanks!
