Sununu on Ross Perot’s Candidacy

I am writing to express my disgust at the nonstop series of attacks against Perot that your newspaper has waged for the past month. The July 2 article was the most ludicrous. How relevant could such claims made 37 years ago be to the ability of someone who in the intervening years started and ran a multibillion-dollar company and sat on the board of the largest industrial corporation in the world? The fact that one of Perot’s shipmates supported his claims that their commanding officer was not a “textbook” officer was left to the second-to-last sentence of the article.
