Rather than a book review, this is a personal bashing of the subject, filled with bias and inaccuracies and compounded by sloppy research on the part of the author.

I regret that Mr. Martin was never taken seriously and given the dramatic roles that he yearned for . . . No performer in my lifetime could equal Dean Martin in the subtlety and understatement of his wit and delivery. Perhaps this gift is an extension of his very private and reticent personality.

He deserves better.
