Northwest Air May Offer Corporate Discounts: Northwest Airlines indicated that it would offer discounts to corporate customers who buy tickets in bulk--and try to avoid setting off another fare war in the process. Northwest declined to offer specifics, saying it was concerned about getting into another pricing fight with American Airlines, the nation’s most powerful airline, which has tried to eliminate such discounting from the industry.
