Reality Time: Veteran television news executive Av Westin was named Tuesday to head a new Time Warner unit that will develop, produce and market television programming. The intra-company joint venture involving Time Publishing Ventures and Telepictures Productions will tap into Time’s news-gathering operation “to feed the growing appetite for news and information-based programming,” a press release stated. Westin developed “20/20” for ABC, worked with CBS News and most recently has been senior vice president, reality programming, for King World and co-executive producer of “Inside Edition.”
