BURBANK : Airport Police Protest Stalled Talks
- Share via
Five Burbank Airport police officers demonstrated Tuesday in front of the Burbank Airport Hilton to protest stalled contract negotiations between airport police and the Airport Authority.
Contract negotiations have been at an impasse since April 28, according to the Airport Police Officers Assn., which has been without a contract since January. Airport police are demanding higher salaries, saying they are paid less than any comparable airport officers in the state.
Airport spokesman Victor Gill said no meetings have be scheduled to reopen negotiations with the association.
The airport is holding a conference for airport managers from throughout the southwest United States at the hotel where police picketed Tuesday. The conference began Sunday and continues through Thursday morning.
