Lotus Development Corp. said its second-quarter earnings rose 62% from depressed levels a year ago, when the software developer was making a transition to new products.
The Cambridge, Mass.-based company said it earned $14.9 million, or 34 cents a share, in the three-month period that ended June 27. That compared to a profit of $9.2 million, or 21 cents a share, in the second quarter of 1991.
In the same quarter two years ago, however, Lotus earned $23.5 million.
Revenue for the most recent quarter totaled $220.3 million, up 18% from the same period last year.
