La Puente : Business License Fee Ended

A $105 processing fee for annual business license applications was repealed by the City Council Tuesday after months of complaints from business owners.

In a 5 to 0 vote, the council finalized changes in the business license fee structure, including the elimination of a special $105 charge enacted last year to recover the city’s cost of processing applications.

Angry merchants complained that the $105 fee was unnecessarily high and argued that it also was counterproductive because it discouraged potential businesses from locating in La Puente.
