Cincinnati police arrested former NFL and Ohio State quarterback Art Schlichter on a felony charge alleging that he passed a bad check. Schlichter, 32, a quarterback with the Arena Football League’s Cincinnati Rockers, surrendered after being notified of the warrant against him, police said.
The bad check was for more than $300, said Sgt. Mike Oetzel of the police fraud investigation unit. Schlichter was charged on a complaint by an individual who alleged that Schlichter wrote him the check in exchange for that amount of cash, Oetzel said. The check was returned by a Cincinnati bank as not payable.
