A 71-year-old Lancaster woman died over the weekend after the car she was riding in was struck broadside by another car, the Antelope Valley Sheriff’s Department said.
Claude Aiello, 80, of Lancaster was driving east on Avenue I Saturday when his car was struck as he tried to make a left turn into a mobile home park on 20th Street East about 12:15 p.m., Lt. D. Castillo said. Aiello’s wife, Dora Aiello, a passenger, was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital. She later died there, he said.
Claude Aiello was taken to Lancaster Community Hospital and remained overnight, hospital spokeswoman Carol Fryer said. The driver of the other car, Dennis Moyers, 31, of Lancaster was treated and released.
