DEAR GOV: With the budget logjam in Sacramento, county supervisors decided Tuesday that they had better do something quick in the face of losing millions in state funding. They approved a letter to the governor warning that such a loss could “severely compromise” local services. But they recognize that local governments are going head-to-head for funding. Says Supervisor Harriett M. Wieder: “It’s like a bunch of dogs,” all fighting for one bone.
