College Aid: Rock star Elton John, who became friends with Ryan White during the youngster’s five-year battle with AIDS, has offered to help pay for the college education of Ryan’s sister, Andrea White. White’s mother, AIDS activist Jeanne White, said John had offered to pay half the cost of educating Andrea, 18, who plans to attend Indiana University this fall and hopes to become a physician. Ryan died in 1990 at age 18 of complications of AIDS, which he contracted from a blood-clotting agent used to treat his hemophilia.
