A Chagall for Sale: At $600,000, it probably has the highest asking price of any work of art for sale in an Orange County retail gallery.
It is “Composition en Fleur”--you guessed it: a bunch of flowers--by Marc Chagall on display at Lahaina Galleries at Fashion Island Newport Beach.
“It is very rare to have a quality Chagall piece available,” said gallery director Carl Brzovich . “And this piece is very appealing.”
Desirable it may be, but in the few weeks it has been on sale there have been only lookers, no takers.
