A woman who was shot to death by her husband Tuesday night before he turned the gun on himself had been trying to get her belongings out of their apartment, police said.
Bonnie J. Moore, 19, had returned to the apartment at 1600 W. Broadway with her parents, Sgt. Chet Barry said. They were standing at the door when her husband, Samuel Leon Moore, 36, pulled her inside and locked the door, he said.
Her parents were trying to get in when they heard a single gunshot, Barry said. They ran to the manager’s office to call police.
Officers, responding about 7:20 p.m., broke down the door and found the Moores dead on the living room floor.
