President Bush and GOP Policies

In his (July 20) speech, beamed to 27 Republican rallies, George Bush proclaimed: “The Democrats weren’t the party that liberated Kuwait.”
Bush has committed a disgusting outrage against the memories of U.S. service personnel killed in this action. Were they all registered Republicans?
I served in the Army twice and, in all the paperwork, never noticed a box for my political affiliation (Republican at the time).
The Gulf action also required the approval of that Democratic Congress that Bush keeps blasting.
Just try to imagine a man of real character, Harry Truman, running a close race against Dewey in postwar 1948, lowering himself and our nation by saying: “The Republicans weren’t the party that won World War II.”
Never, never, never.
