Politics has always been a dirty game but with the Democratic Convention in New York it’s become downright filthy. Never before has disease been used as a political football. The spectacle of AIDS victims Elizabeth Glaser and Bob Hattoy addressing the issue was heart-wrenching. But what’s the message? That if elected Clinton will find a cure?
Medical scientists have been working for years trying to discover an antidote. Does anyone really believe that a Democrat in the White House is going to speed up research among scientists already long dedicated to finding a cure for AIDS?
