Vermeer String Quartet Opens Chamber Series

Four ensembles will play during the 1992-93 Founders Hall Chamber Music Series at the Orange County Performing Arts Center.
Each program will begin at 4 p.m. The series:
* Oct. 4: Vermeer String Quartet, playing Schubert’s Quartet No. 12, Gyorgy Ligeti’s Quartet No. 1 and Mendelssohn’s Quartet No. 5.
* Nov. 8: Trio Fontenay from Germany, playing Haydn’s “Gypsy” Trio, Brahms’ Trio in A and Dvorak’s Trio in G minor.
* Jan. 10, 1993: L.A. Chamber Orchestra Winds, playing Beethoven’s Octet, Samuel Barber’s “Summer Music” and Dvorak’s Serenade in D minor.
* March 21: Brodsky String Quartet from Great Britain, playing Schumann’s Quartet in A, Beethoven’s Quartet No. 6 and Shostakovich’s Quartet No. 8.
