Hornets’ Johnson to Have Surgery

NBA rookie of the year Larry Johnson of the Charlotte Hornets will undergo arthroscopic surgery today for torn cartilage in his right knee, the Hornets announced.
Johnson complained of pain in the knee after working out in Dallas this week.
Glenn Perry, the Hornets’ team physician, said an examination revealed a tear in a small piece of cartilage in the joint. He said Johnson should recover from the operation in time to play at full speed when training camp begins in October.
